Jesper Kyd and the team at IO Interactive decided to change instrumental direction for the sequel to the intentionally grander and more mainstream Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. Diving headfirst into the world of orchestral melodrama, Kyd worked with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and the Hungarian Radio Choir to imbue the second Hitman game with a sense of struggle and grandeur. His signature style is still intact in the live-recorded orchestrations: strong melodies, driving rhythms, and harmonic influences from around the world. The soundtrack is rounded out by the groovy electronica of the earlier games in the series, which incorporates elements of world music to fit 47’s escapades around the world.
