The War of the Future
In 2123 AD, the Xenes Federation waged open war against the neighboring Republic of Sanlar. One year into the conflict, Sanlar's forces were outnumbered by the military might of the Xenes army.
In response to this critical situation, the President of Sanlar issues an unexpected order to the 12th Special Armored Corps. Comprised primarily of troublemakers and delinquents, the 12th Armored Corps is renowned for overcoming insurmountable obstacles.
The time has come to turn the tide.
Assault Suit Leynos 2 is the 32-bit sequel to Assault Suit Leynos ("Target: Earth" in the US), a game released in 1990 for the Mega Drive. It is a side-scrolling shooter that puts players in charge of piloting an Assault Suit Leynos against a relentless mechanized army, all within a cynical story and gameplay inspired by anime mechas.
Assault Suit Leynos received a much-loved spin-off, Assault Suit Valken (also known as "Cybernator"), which takes place in the same universe. Released on the Super NES™ in 1992, this game has become a must-have for fans of 2D action and robot games!
