Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet was, and remains, well ahead of its time. A platforming and puzzle game with an emphasis on user-generated content and co-operative play, LittleBigPlanet embodied a player-driven spirit of creativity that came to define an entire generation of hit games.

Perhaps most impressive about LittleBigPlanet was the way it managed to make such a vast and robust gameplay concept feel so incredibly comfortable and warm. Its textile-inspired textures and melodic, Stephen Fry-narrated storytelling gave the game an unmistakable handcrafted charm. Creation, it seemed to insist, should be satisfying, simple, and fun. This spirit is alive and well in the game’s unforgettable soundtrack.

Composers Mat Clark and Kenneth C M Young cooked up a soundtrack that pulled inspiration from world music, family-friendly nursery rhymes, groovy mashups, and more. iam8bit has always been inspired by LittleBigPlanet’s undeniable vibrancy, which is why we’re thrilled to partner with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring it to vinyl.

The LittleBigPlanet double-LP, much like the pint-sized protagonist who inspired it, packs a mighty punch despite its small size. Across its four sides, you’ll find 15 hand-selected tracks from the game, providing a delicious sampling of the rich palette of moods it features. It’s pressed on Earth & Moon Inspired vinyl, two distinct yet complementary gorgeous shades of vinyl designed to harmonize with brand-new album art by Haley “bbanditt” Wakefield. The result is an album that celebrates not just video games, but creativity itself.
