Lead composer Tom Salta has built an enviable roster, with entries in the worlds of Prince of Persia, Tom Clancy and Halo to his name. For DEATHLOOP's original score, he delved into the music of Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Nelson Riddle and a host of other late '60s influences. Layers of organs, synthesizers and more Period instruments (including Rhodes, Wurlitzer and Hammond B3) help maintain the tension while Colt eliminates the eternals in the shadows. When push comes to shove, or Julianna intervenes with extreme prejudice, the tracks explode into furious guitar and drum grooves that propel the zany, otherworldly gunplay.
Ross Tregenza's multi-genre diegetic cues perfectly complement the psycho-sophisticated style of the inhabitants of Blackreef, while songwriter Erich Talaba and singer Jeff Cummings brought the vicious visionary Frank Spicer to life with catchy songs. Music agency Sencit teamed up with powerful, melancholic singers for the trailer and credits songs, including Bond's signature track "Déjà Vu" (featuring FJØRA).
