Let’s get one thing straight: yes, the "4" in the title means you can play with up to three friends in local mode. More precisely, you will play as the adorable bubble dragons Bub, Bob, Peb, and Pab, blowing bubbles, defeating bad guys, and facing off against imposing bosses in a classic couch co-op mode, all on a single screen! They say shared happiness is double the happiness, but in this new 2.5D adventure, it’s quadrupled!

BUBBLES JUST LIKE IN YOUR MEMORIES

The concept of Bubble Bobble has always been as simple as it is brilliant. You blow bubbles, and when you touch an enemy, they get trapped inside. Pop the bubble and they are defeated for good. You can also bounce on the bubbles or watch them get carried away by powerful air currents in certain levels. It was fantastic in the original 1986 game, and it still is today. Don't believe us? Try it yourself! The original arcade version is included as a bonus. Grab a friend and pop bubbles just like in the 8-bit days!

This game is packed with content! Once you finish the Story mode, you will unlock "The Baron is Back!" mode. In this mode, you will have to avoid the immortal (and, honestly, absolutely terrifying) Baron von Blubba while taking out the usual enemies. To consider yourself a true master, you will have to clear 100 levels in a row, just like in the original Bubble Bobble. But unlike the classic, up to four players can take on this challenge together. Strength in numbers, right?

SWITCH 2 EXCLUSIVE: STARDROP MOUNTAIN

In this game mode, the levels scroll vertically instead of using the series' iconic static screens. You will need to use both your bubbles and your wits to climb this colorful mountain and reach its peak. Watch out, though! New enemies and unique mechanics stand in the way of Bub and his friends. And as if that weren't enough, a powerful boss awaits you at the top. A brand new way to experience Bubble Bobble!
